This past weekend was hella fun and full of delicious and slightly unhealthy (at times) food.
FITNESS TRACKING
Okay, just to get the boring stuff out of the way before I get to my weekend recap… here is my fitness log for the week. I changed up how I count some classes because I realized there is a lot of talking from the instructor where I’m not moving and I don’t want to count that. So here is this past week (backwards even):
Friday 11/6:
- 45 minutes low impact aerobics
- 1 hour zumbaaaaaa!!
Thursday 11/5:
- 30 minutes lower body conditioning
- 1 hour cardio drills/water kickboxing
Wednesday 11/4:
- 90 minute walking (4 miles, with hills…difficult)
- 45 minutes water aerobics/drills
- 15 minutes progressive yoga
Tuesday 11/3:
- 30 minutes lower body conditioning
- 1 hour kickboxing class (killa!)
- 30 minutes Zumba (yeah, bump it up!)
- candlelight yoga (not counting toward exercise total)
Monday 11/2:
- 30 minute walk at moderate pace (Buttermilk Falls)
- 30 minutes recumbent bike with intervals
- 30 minutes upper body weights (on my own)
Sunday 11/1:
- 20 minutes walking – 1 mile
FOOD TRACKING
I’ve been trying to track my food… I even started a tumblr to track the pics of it… but I’ve been very forgetful about photographing things since I stopped before. Especially in restaurants I just forget to do it. Maybe I need to start hanging out with food bloggers again. They are always camera ready. *snap* *snap*
Anyway, I’ve overconsumed a lot of calories over the weekend but it was all worth it. It was a fun weekend hanging with the girls and going out a bit. A bit more like my real life.
More food, more fun, more real, and even some firsts too!
SATURDAY REUNIONS
Saturday I spent the day with my friend Meredith (remember her? she is the crazy ironwoman/marathon runner) who I studied abroad in Austria with. She brought her adorable puppy so we could play and we went to Manchester Center, VT, where I bought a cute heart necklace and we had pepperoni and green pepper pizza. After that we went down south to Bennington, VT for my first visit. Cute little Vermont city with the Energizer factory where she works. It was nice to get a tour and update on her life again. I always love reunions! Here is Meredith and Kelly….
Clearly Kelly had a good time!
SUNDAY SHOPPING
Sunday I went with the fitness girls Mallory and Michelle to Manchester, New Hampshire for some retail therapy. It was my first time in Manchester! We hit up the mall where I bought some cute socks and a plaid shirt dress::
Then we ate at Applebee’s where I ate chips and dip and a chicken fajita roll up with fries. Mmmm greasy good food? Then we went to Target which was the real reason we were in New Hampshire – Vermont does not have a Target. That officially takes away a few cool points from the state. Just saying. I bought a necklace, gloves, and Christmas cards! I have a lot to send out so I figured I should start now. Ho, ho, ho.
My necklaces I bought this weekend (heart in Vermont wood store, other at Target):
Then for dinner tonight Mallory made enchiladas and with my Tabasco added they were heavenly. I’ve decided I should never cook again because their are just way better cooks in the world. I should leave it to them and just assume my role as perpetual dishwasher. It’s okay.
My weekend was AMAZING!!!
Anyone else have an awesome weekend?
Oh, btw, I’m going to try and start posting at night again. Maybe not this late at night, but still sometimes in the afternoon/evening timeframe. I really can’t decide when I should post on my blog. I know it’s my blog and I can post whenever I want… but I don’t know. When is a good time to post? When do you like to read blogs? When do you post on yours?
sounds like an awesome weekend! Life without target is a sad life. Glad you got to visit so many people!
nice post and good blog
Love the dress.
Glad you had a great weekend! :)
That puppy’s so cute!
Your necklaces are very attractive ans seems very unique.
(you look so CUTE in the dress…love the necklaces as well. I entirely lack the ACCESSORIES STYLE gene)
and Im so so glad you had such a great weekend. totally made me smile as well.
Sounds like a great weekend Mary!
I read blogs early in the morning and late at night. I post at night (generally), but I have thought about changing this on occasion. Most of my readers visit in the very early morning and the late evening.
ohmygosh! that dress is adorable! where did you get it!? can i copy you!? :)
Nice work on the workouts too! I need to increase my amount of time working on. Maybe I’ll try a Zumba class…hmmm….. –Adrienne
I like to read your blog whenever it comes up! That dress is soo cute on you! I agree that not having a Target dings VT!
Great finds!
I’ve never been sure about posting either. I used to post by 8am pacific time or just save it until the next day. But now I’m more flexible. To me, it matters less when others post because it’ll be there in my reader at some point :)
P.S. I love what you said about just being a dishwasher for life. Me too!
My wife and I lived in VT for five years and I loved every minute of it, she bemoaned no Target almost weekly…ok maybe that’s an exaggeration, but she wasn’t super psyched about it.
As for food – we miss what we called the “Dangerous Mile” in Stowe, VT. We started out at the Cold Hollow Cider Mill for Cider Donuts and Cider, then to Lake Champlain Chocolates and the Cabot Annex for samples and finished the day off with a waffle cone at Ben and Jerry’s.
Ok, maybe it was terrible, but it was TASTY!!
My parents and sister live right near manchester! I even lived there for a couple months as a kid. I like the wing necklace, I have some earings that are just like that. Put them together we have a set :) I’m always writing blogs in my head but usually I don’t write them down till I’m at work, because that’s when I’m the most bored and my mind wanders to writing, plus theres a computer in front of me (also when I read blogs!). If I don’t have any links or photos to add, I post them right then during work. But usually I do have something or other and end up posting them at night or on the weekends. I don’t think it matters when you post them, post whenever you like. Your readers (me) will just check each day and if there’s something to read, we’ll read it and if not, we’ll wait. :)
Shame on Vermont, no Target. Love the heart necklace and plaid dress — how cute.
I think the dress is fabulous and you are fabulous in the dress!
I post my blogs first thing in the morning…I’m not sure if it’s the right thing to do but that’s how I roll. ;-)
I was in Manchester two years ago. Beautiful place – The joke was asking the visitors center at the airport what there was to do in Manchester and she said “Your doing it”. That turned out not to be too far from the truth. We ended up going down to Boston and then up to Maine.I actually enjoyed my first visit to the east coast. Looks like you had a great week of workouts. Keep it up.
@Adam
I haven’t been to Stowe yet! I’ve got to check it out… maybe avoid Dangerous Mile, but I would like to go see the mountain. Maybe snowboard there? Sounds like a cool area.
@Merri
A set! I’m weird but usually if I wear a necklace I won’t wear earrings or vice versa. I like jewelry just not too much of it.
@Joanna
Thanks! I’m not sure there is a “right thing” for when to post. Eh.
@Barry
Haha!! That’s hilarious! Same thing for all of Vermont. I saw a bumper sticker that I’ve got to find soon about doing nothing in Vermont… so true of these states.
Great blog, sounds like you had a great weekend.
i dont usually wear necklaces too much at all, or any jewelry mostly just earings. ive been trying to start wearing necklaces but i tend to fiddle with them too much :)
Wow, great blog! I’ve been blogging (http://120to120.blogspot.com) about my weight loss journey as well, and to answer your question I pretty much publish whenever I want! The most important thing to me is that the blogging experience is cathartic, so the closest I come to publishing at a set time is my once-per-week Weekly Summary.
Keep it up!

I’d love to come up with some good ideas for publicizing it, for increasing awareness about it, and for generating some excitement about it. I’ve come up with some ideas (publishing party, send out announcements to all similar institutes, etc.) but I’m sure there are a lot that I just haven’t thought of.
