Halloween ended up being a blast!
I spent a couple hours early in the day at a volunteer gig that I’m still learning about and then spent the afternoon figuring out my costume. I didn’t want to spend much money but I did want to be something girly so I decided to be a fairy!
I bought some fairy wings, fake flowers, and a headband at The Dollar Tree. And some fake eyelashes and glitter from Walmart. High dollar crafting here people!
I took apart the flowers and with a little hot glue I created my own flower headband/crown. It ended up looking really cute and getting lots of compliment so I might find ways to wear it beyond Halloween!
I also added flowers to my fairy wings since I liked the woodland flower fairy idea better than fairy wings with spiders. I ended up as some sort of dark purple woodland fairy.
My costume wasn’t super involved but I enjoyed how it turned out!
Applying fake eyelashes for the first time by myself was a huge feat and I walked away feeling pretty proud of them!
I tried my best to get a photo that showed off all the glitter I had in my hair and on my face but that was hard to do in the lighting! Despite not being able to photograph glitter, I certainly left a trail of glitter everywhere I went.
My costumes always seem to be last minute, even my favorite Mad Hatter costume, but I still enjoy putting in some effort to dress up. Halloween is so much fun and such a fun chance to wear and be things you wouldn’t normally in your every day life.
I also love giving out candy to trick or treaters. We had candy for anyone that stopped by the house party and only a few kids came by in the early hours. I let them grab handfuls each because… why not? Halloween candy is super fun as a kid and we didn’t need any leftovers staring us in the face afterward!
I’ll admit that the next day I’m recovering from the party. It was incredibly fun from dancing to drinking to handing out candy to trick or treaters. Luckily a casual Sunday of football and blogging is in store for me today!
Hope you all are enjoying your post-Halloween Sunday as well! <3
