If you’re my friend on Facebook, or follow me on Instagram, or know me in real life, then you probably already know: my super awesome cool boyfriend asked me to marry him on New Year’s Day!
We had partied with friends the night before and had the day off work so we spent the day watching Netflix and just hanging out. After a slow day we decided to go Downtown for dinner to celebrate the new year.
We walked through Court Square where the park is lit up with Christmas lights still. I’ve worked Downtown for many years and have always loved strolling through Court Square during my daily walk breaks. Jason knew this so he decided it was the right place to go.
Surprisingly despite a ton of people out and about Downtown, we were there alone. Jason stopped me and told me “I wanted to come here because I have to ask you a question. I wanted to start the New Year by starting our family. Will you marry me?”
Obviously I’m pretty thrilled with this New Year’s Day surprise! My face in the photo above is the face I kept making and the only photo immediately after where I wasn’t moving around so much I was blurry.
I was happy dancing and moving my hand around like crazy because it had a very meaningful, and very pretty ring on it!
After the proposal we had sushi and Thai food before visiting our parents to tell them the happy news (and show off the fancy ring).
It’s so pretty! I caught myself staring at the various colors reflecting off it during church today. Nothing like stained glass and diamond rings to make it hard to concentrate.
I’m thrilled to have the honor of marrying Jason and becoming part of his family. I love his family like my own already.
2016 is going to be a very interesting year. We will get married and so will my brother and his fiancé. Work wise I’m going through some big changes and really excited about the future of my little business too. We have some other huge goals we want to achieve this year. And of course I’ll be turning 30! So much is about to happen and I just can’t wait for any of it!
I won’t be writing much about weddings or wedding planning here since that’s not the focus of this blog, but I did want to share this joyous news! ?????
