Never in my life did I expect to go to a ZZ Top concert.
I enjoy their music but I don’t buy a ton of concert tickets so they weren’t high on my priority list. But when my awesome boyfriend sent a text on Friday asking if I wanted to go to the show thanks to free tickets, the answer was YES.
It was my first ZZ Top concert and my first Live At The Garden concert, something I have been wanting to try out!
Live at the Garden is a summer concert series held at the Memphis Botanic Garden. You bring blankets and chairs to sit on in the large field and you can bring coolers of food and drinks for a picnic style evening. This season the series included ZZ Top, Rob Thomas, Martina McBride, Hall & Oates, and others. It’s a decent lineup each year and I was excited to finally get the chance to go!
There were a ton of people out there and the weather yesterday was perfect for a summer concert – wonderful temperatures and clear skies. It was great to spend the night with new and old friends (and a few thousand strangers).
The ZZ Top concert was definitely the highlight on the weekend this week! I’m so glad I got to go to this – we had a great time.
The rest of the weekend has been filled with relaxing, workouts, grocery shopping at Costco, and meal planning for the week. Now I’m off to work through my email while watching a show about how to cook BBQ and then making dinner – salmon, asparagus, and salad.
It’s been yet another great weekend!
Yay! I’m so glad you got the chance to go to the concert and that you had the perfect weather!
Thanks! It was so fun! :)
