It’s been a while since I consistently planned meals but yesterday the decision was made to start meal planning again.
I realized I’ve been eating out at delicious Memphis restaurants far too ofen and not cooking at home nearly enough despite a fully stocked and functional kitchen. Clearly I just got out of the habit.
I’ve been missing out on all the awesome benefits to meal planning. It’s time to make a change! So for a while until I get back into the habit, I’m going to blog my meal plans. Accountability, I need it.
Meal Planner Set from I Heart Organizing
Meal planning for me is just planning dinners since I almost always have dinner leftovers the next day for lunch if I do not have a business lunch planned. Therefore the meal plans won’t be super complicated… it’s basically just planning a week of dinners!
It’s a bit random to start this on a Wednesday, but it is what it is!
Weekly Dinner Meal Plan
- Wednesday – Turkey tacos and guacamole
- Thursday – Watching football with friends / likely grilling meat & veg
- Friday – Chicken & kale burgers with baked fries, salad
- Saturday – Steaks, asparagus, salad
- Sunday – Spinach and turkey enchiladas
- Monday – Honey & soy chicken with roasted vegetables
- Tuesday – Turkey Meatloaf Muffins, sweet potato, salad
There is my plan for this week’s dinners! On work week nights I’ve tried to plan dinners where I know I’ll have extras for leftovers the next day. On the weekend I don’t have to worry about that since I have more time to make a salad or shake for lunch and sometimes eat lunch with my mom.
I have been really into having side salads lately so that is why they are included with most meals. It’s a great way to add a fun element and still get in lots of veggies.
This will help a ton with my grocery list and shopping this evening so I can plan ahead and have meals ready to go each night. It should also help save some money on food since eating out so often due to lack of planning can get quite costly!
Great plan! I also mostly just plan dinners, because my lunches are either dinner leftovers or salads. I do jot down what the kids are going to have for lunch, and I also just realized that I’m going to have to start thinking about hubby’s lunch because he just started a new job and will have to bring his lunch (his old job was at a restaurant so he mostly ate their food)! So much planning!
I love that planner. I think I will have to consider getting it!
Leftovers and salads for lunch is the way to go!
Isn’t the planner super cute? I might have a problem with looking at and buying printable meal planners. I think having cute sheets will make me more excited to do it each week. :)
Now the foods you chose for your meal plan is just spectacular and mouthwatering! I am craving to cook them the moment I saw this! I am glad you realized it sooner before those eat out on restaurants will ruin your metabolism and health! Keep going! :D
