I logged into My Fitness Pal the other day with the intention of tracking my calories for the day. I’m not super focused on calories these days but I do this periodically just to make sure I’m on track and know how many calories I’m consuming on a normal day. It’s a nice little check in and reminder for myself. Without forcing myself to do it every day I can still utilize the tools and be mindful about my choices.
When I logged in it prompted me to update my weight since it had been a while. I updated it and was rewarded with a nice little status update.
I can’t remember my starting weight when I joined My Fitness Pal this time, but it’s nice to see that I’m down 50 lbs from when I started there, and 14 since I last logged my weight there.
It’s a nice reminder that when you are losing weight, everything adds up. All the small decisions might not seem like much at the time but it’s a cumulative effort. You do small things over and over again and then eventually you see bigger progress.
If you feel like you aren’t seeing any progress yourself, then just keep going. Keep the healthy habits. Keep working out. Keep eating more fruits and veggies. It does all add up. It all gets you closer to your goal. It might not be accomplished in a few months and instead might take a few years. Regardless of how long it takes you, it’s worth it! So keep going. Keep adding it all up.
