What I Wore This Week

March 29, 2013 by Mary

I’m not very fashionable. We know this from previous posts about clothes. I own more colorful workout clothes than nice work clothes and I wear jeans to work 90% of the time. However, I now have a bathroom with a full length mirror at work so I’ve started taking outfit of the day pictures.

I’m doing this to help me remember what I’ve worn (because I forget) and because I think it might help me reconnect with a more positive body image. Despite the super low worthless feelings from the last couple of weeks, I’m not a huge-horrible-blah-blob. I’ve got weight to lose, sure, but I still have come a long way. My body is way healthier, stronger, and better looking than before. I want to remember that instead of dwelling on flaws.

With that in mind, here’s what I wore this week!

OOTD 1

moving day at my office. i was tough and moved a ton of stuff.

OOTD 2

wore my company t-shirt that tells everyone i’m a web geek.

OOTD 3

it was cold enough for a scarf and layers one morning.

OOTD 4

and then i wore a dress the next day. stripes and polka dots = my fav combo.

Right now I’m wishing I had money to go shopping but I’m stuck paying taxes in two countries at the moment. Bummer! Maybe in a few months I’ll be able to refresh the wardrobe a bit. Who knows? One day I might even be *fashionable* or at least figure out my own work appropriate style. ;)

Happy Good Friday! Hope you all have a lovely weekend and Happy Easter to those of you who celebrate it! :)

You know, I think you look pretty darn cute in all them! I like the mix of casual with more dressy. What do you really need? Just some dressier pants. That’s about it! You seem to have the cardi’s and accessories down (LOVE YOUR BAG!), so the only thing that seems to be rampant is the jeans. So, just throw in a few nicer pants and BAM! Perfecto! Well, and maybe a few hair things or something. But overall, you’re cute!

Maybe. I generally hate wearing dress pants though, and my office is super casual. Jeans (and shorts when it gets hot) are pretty common. I don’t want to overdress, if that makes sense.

Maybe just some different kinds of jeans then? Maybe some colors like khaki or olive or different cuts. It’s great to work in a more casual office. My fave pants were from Target back in the day. They were stretchy, cotton, and looked great with just about anything! But I never see them anymore! I’m not a huge fan of dress pants, but there are lots of pant options out there that aren’t those awful traditional dress pants. Either way, I think you’re doing pretty well at keeping it mixed up. :)

That could work! I’ll keep an eye out for some new options.

Girl, you can totally see your confidence building throughout the week in pictures! You start off w/the hand behind the back, it comes out to the side, then you pop your hip out and the hand is on the hip in the last one! Adorably confident! U rocked that dress.

Haha. Honestly it just feels like I’m getting back to normal after being depressed. Going off birth control was a great decision!

Love the last pic, esp, so cute! and the turquoise cardi. Your office must be nice n warm, we can’t wear bare legs here or we FREEZE!! It’s layers and blankets for us!

I like the way you look in a dress much more. You are very elegant and it shows in the dress picture. Thanks,
