Whirlwind

Oh. Emmmmmm. Geeeeee.

Y’all I’ve been caught in a worldwind of life that’s taken me far from the land of blogging.

mary in the cold

After getting engaged and starting a new job, both of which took a lot of time and attention, it got very, very cold in Tennessee. We even got snow which is a rare treat.

ps – This scarf is my favorite scarf I’ve ever bought. It’s a fun sparkly silver and black, super warm, and folds nicely. Thanks Target!

Unfortunately the cold weather meant I also managed to catch a cold that knocked me on my butt for almost two weeks. Whatever I caught made life miserable for two weeks and then kept me pretty tired and just recovering for a few more days. I’m over it now and feeling normal again!

Hurray!

You never know how glorious it is to be healthy until you get sick unexpectedly.

However, I’ve had some other health issues that made me realize the last few months I’ve not been taking the best care of myself. It’s a bummer to have to admit to yourself that you aren’t doing a good job at something very important.

So things around here are shaping up.

I’m cooking at home more which obviously means healthier, tastier meals.

I joined a new gym since I lost my gym membership from my previous employer.

I’ve started walking during my hour long lunch break, when it’s not freeeeeeeezing.

I decided to cut out all dairy again. It’s snuck back into my diet in many ways and just makes me feel sick.

I’m feeling healthy again!

I’m finally catching onto the new routine of my new job. It’s a different, earlier, schedule than I’ve previously had so it took some getting used to at first. Now that it’s not as hard I feel like I can build some healthy routines rather than always feeling rushed.

This might not be much of an update but I’m just so happy to have a few free minutes to check in after such a whirlwind of a month!

How’s your 2016? Off to a great start?
